Thomas R. Mcfarren

Thomas R. McFarren, 72 of Massillon, passed away on November 12, 2017. Tom was born on May 28, 1945 in Massillon, the son of the late Warren and Mabel (Groff) McFarren. Tom retired from the Smith & Nephew Company. He enjoyed gardening, working on engines and traveling. He was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Herman, F.O.E. #190, Reese’s Raiders and West Lebanon United Methodist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Atlee, Jerry, and Gordon McFarren and his sisters, Joann McFarren and Dorothy Berkey. He is survived by his wife, Sue (Greenwalt) McFarren whom he shared 41 years of marriage; sister, Rebecca McFarren; mother-in-law, Pauline Greenwalt; brother-in-law; Jack Greenwalt; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Molly. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
