Thomas L. Foster, age 68 of Canton, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born on June 11, 1940 in Canton to the late Roy and Isabel (Harter) Foster. He lived all of his life in the Canton area and retired from Timken Roller Bearing Company after 35 years. He was a member of Shepler Country Church. Tom’s woodworking skill produced yard art that was sold to many. His personal time was spent with family and friends playing cards, fishing and best of all attending church. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, W. Jean (Burkett) Foster; two daughters, Cheryl Evans and Jaime Border Lamp; three sons, Lee Foster, Jayson Border and Nathan Carper; sister, Joan (Gerald) Girt; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday at Shepler Country Church (6109 Hudson Dr. SW) with Rev. James Simone officiating. Interment will be in Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and Thursday from 10 AM until the service at the church.
