Thomas Jackson Wardle

May 30, 1949 — June 22, 2024

With reverence and affection, we commemorate the life of Thomas Jackson Wardle, who at the age of seventy-five years, was called to his eternal rest on the twenty-second day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-four. Born to Richard Thomas Wardle and Alice Stover Wardle on the thirtieth day of May 1949, in the town of New Castle, Pennsylvania. Thomas was a pillar of strength, a paragon of virtue, and a devoted family man.

Thomas received his education at Northwestern High School and furthered his academic journey at Grove City College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also was part of the U.S. Air Force R.O.T.C. His professional pursuits led him to a distinguished career as a Metallurgical Engineer at Babcock and Wilcock, where he rendered forty-six years of faithful service.

In his community, Thomas was known for his altruistic spirit, having served with valor as a volunteer firefighter with the West Mayfield Pennsylvania Fire Department. His dedication to the safety and well-being of others was a testament to his character.

Thomas found joy in the simple pleasures of life: the thrill of exploration beneath the sea as an enthusiastic scuba diver, the quiet contemplation of his stamp and model airplane collections, and the pursuit of knowledge through his love of history and the military. It was an integral part of every family vacation, that Thomas included visiting museums and historical sites. As a Beaver Falls native, he was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He shared his love of the team with family and friends.

He leaves behind a legacy that will be lovingly remembered by his brother, (Richard) Curt Wardle and wife, Janice Wardle; sister, Ann L. Wardle; his former wife, Mary S. Wardle; his children, Jennifer L. Wardle and David T. Wardle; daughters-in-law, Tonia A. Wardle and Carolina Florentino S.; his cherished grandchildren, Stephanie M. Wardle, Kyle C. Ray, Marcus A. Wardle and his wife, Courtney C. Wardle, and Mia M. Wardle. He also leaves many nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania to Wyoming and a couple in between. As well as a host of loving friends and family. He now joins his parents and brother, Jeffrey Carson Wardle, in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Wardle family invites loved ones and friends to gather for visitation and remembrance at Paquelet & Arnold Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio, on the thirtieth day of June, from two o'clock in the afternoon until five o'clock in the evening.

All are invited to meet the family for the Committal Service at Zelienople Community Mausoleum, in Zelienople, PA on Monday, the 1st day of July, at one o’clock in the afternoon.

As a member of Canal Fulton United Methodist church, the family suggests that donations be made in the memory of Thomas Jackson Wardle to the church or a charity of personal choice, honoring his spirit of giving and community service.

Thomas Jackson Wardle's memory will be cherished in the hearts of those he touched, a beacon of his love, wisdom, and benevolence. His legacy endures, a comforting presence to all who knew him. May he rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon him.
