Thomas G. Nelson

Thomas G. Nelson, age 87 of Massillon, died unexpectedly at Affinity Medical Center on Monday, October 25, 2010. Tom was born on September 26, 1923 in Whitmer, WV and was the son of the late Walter and Dewie (Slayton) Nelson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Tom retired from the Timken Company where he worked in the shipping department. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Sally Hinkle and five brothers. He is survived by his wife, Louise Nelson, who he married on February 28, 1948, his daughters, Doris Nelson, Mary (Jim) Vance, Judith Drury and Connie (Pat) Wasik, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Ted (Ann) Nelson and his sisters, Dollie Lewis, Betty (Charles) Haislop and Marietta Tacy. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 1:30 P.M. at the Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon with burial following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
