Thomas Emil David, age 98, of Southern Pines, NC passed away April 21, 2014. He was born November 27, 1915 in Zanesville to the late Joseph & Marie (Tobey) David. Tom was a graduate of Washington High School. During WW II, he served in the Navy as a pharmacist mate first class. He was one of seven brothers who served in the Armed Forces. He was part of David Brothers Wholesale, started by his brother Edmund. Tom became self-employed for many years as the owner of Tom David's Vending. He was a good provider. Following retirement he moved to Myrtle Beach. For the past 15 years he was a resident of St. Joseph of the Pines (a Catholic retirement community) in Southern Pines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by several sisters and brothers: Tofic (Sally) David, Esser (Genevieve) David, Edmund (Iona) David, Isabelle (Edward) George, Elizabeth David, Josephine (William) Castora, Paul David, Helen David, and Richard (Fr. Joseph) David, a Maronite Catholic Priest. Tom is survived by four children: Pat (Bruce) Stabile, Vickie (Scot) Rummel, Tom (Kathryn) David and Marie David. There are three surviving brothers and sisters in laws: John (Marci) David, Raymond (late Lois) David, Robert (Carolyn) David and Carol (late Paul) David. There are four grandchildren: Shannon Rimmel Ruminski, Lauren Rummel, Joseph David and Kaiti David. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM May 8th at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fr. Edward Gretchko will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the Mass. His final resting place will be St. Joseph Cemetery.
