Thomas E. Kaiser

July 21, 1942 — June 24, 2023

Thomas E. Kaiser, 80, of Perry Township, passed away on June 24, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1942, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Edward and Doris (Ramsey) Kaiser.

He graduated from New Philadelphia high school and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Tom worked as a sales representative for Pepsi and retired after many years of service. He was also a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.

When asked what his greatest accomplishment in life was and without any hesitation, Tom would answer, “My family”. He was the true definition of a family man. A dedicated husband to his wife Vivian, a loving father to his daughters and a very proud grandfather to his grandchildren that were the light of his life.

Tom was a handyman, teaching his daughters and grandchildren what he knew about carpentry and building things and he was extremely proud to have been able to watch his grandsons grow into the great men they are today.

When he wasn’t passing on his skills or wisdom about life, you could find Tom at his favorite casinos or enjoying his pontoon boat and hiking trails at Atwood Lake.

At the end of the day, Tom was always happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved most.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Vivian (Clark) Kaiser; daughter Kelly Marks; grandchildren Thomas (fiancé Elizabeth West) Newbauer, Kyle (fiancé Jaycee Jones) Marks, and Molly (partner Lucas Marcinik) Newbauer; and sisters Beverly Rentsch, Patricia “Pat” Harris, and Paula Baker.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Debra Newbauer and stepfather Paul Heaton.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mercy Hospice for their great care and compassion.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
