Thomas E. Hastings, age 65, passed away April 26th after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Knox, KY on October 10, 1950. He attended Lincoln High School prior to serving in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He retired from AEP after 40 years of service. He loved God, his family, the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, Indians, OSU Buckeyes, family vacations, and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his parents, F.E. "Gene" and Joan Hastings, grandparents Hugh and Mary Hastings, Horace and Dorothy Ferguson, brother, Steven Hastings, and sister, Karen Hastings-Mills. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda (Welling) Hastings, five children, Melissa (Keith) Shelton, Melinda (Chris) Hastings-Bowling, Thomas (Holly), Brian, and Joseph; siblings Linda Skala, Nancy (Paul) Krueger, Jeanne (Larry) Bennett, Mary (Dave) Brozovic, Theresa Banta, Kathy Harper, Dan (Deborah) Hastings; grandchildren Cody, Jacob, Christopher, Catelyn, Brianna, Alaina, Hannah, Mariah, Thomas, Elijah, Jocelyn, Nathan and Brinley; in-laws Harvey and Emma Welling, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aultman, Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Schumaker, Dr. Khan, the staff of the Aultman Cancer Center, Kathy Armstrong, Shelby Zorbas and so many others who continuously encouraged him to stay strong. His spirit will remain with us forever. "Night, love you, see you tomorrow." A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
