Thomas D. Hammer, 64 of Perry Township, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. Tom was born in Massillon on July 17, 1952 the son of the late Donald and Ruthella (Kenney) Hammer. He owned and operated Hammer Heating & Cooling for 20 years. Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, art and watching his favorite teams, the Massillon Tigers, O.S.U. football and the Cleveland Indians. He was also a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James Hammer. He is survived by his wife, Debby J. (Banfield) Hammer, whom he married on August 17, 1974; brother, David (Christina) Hammer; niece, Linda (Robert) Durst; and many other family members. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
