Therlyn H. Rees

Therlyn H. Rees, age 97 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Shreve, OH on September 25, 1909 to the late John and Eva Rees. Therlyn worked at Hercules for many years before working at the Massillon State Hospital and retiring from there in 1975. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting. He hunted for turtles, rabbits, squirrels and mushrooms. He was also an avid Indians fan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Lee, brothers; Vernon, Evor, and John, and his sister Ruth Harbaugh. He is survived by his wife Iva (Heddelson) Rees with whom he shared 45 years of marriage, sons; Jeffrey Yekel of Navarre and Dale Rees of Massillon, grandchildren; Nathan, Shawn (Shauna) Rees and Kristyn Rees, great-granddaughter, Tatum Rees. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8P.M. Rev. Lee Peters of Epworth U.M.C. will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
