Therese Marie Matie

Therese Marie Matie, 86, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Therese was born on December 6, 1936, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Elmer and Florence (Ritzka) Jordan. Therese loved her family, fashion, decorating, and traveling. She was in the real estate business for over 50 years. Therese loved helping people and getting new families into their first home. She was also a wizard in finance. Therese would mentor those who were just getting into the business. Therese loved cooking and spending holidays with her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Alexander with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage, son, Joseph Matie, daughter, Marilyn Speight, brother, Patrick Jordan, and sister, Jane Fenton.

She is survived by her children, Marie Frenz, Mark (Jennifer) Matie, Anthony Matie, Michelle Matie, Deborah (Scott) Butterfield; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Jordan; and sisters, Mary Ann (Dennis) Harwig, and Karen (Jim) Lane; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 6-8 pm. and on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 12 pm, with the funeral service at 12 p.m. (Noon). Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
