Therese Marie Kiefer

Therese Marie Kiefer, 91, of Massillon, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019. Therese was born in Massillon, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ora Mae (Marthey) Besancon. She was a lifelong resident of Massillon and graduated from Mount Marie Academy and from Mercy School of Nursing. Therese worked for many years in the Maternity Ward and Nursery at Timken Mercy Hospital. In later years she worked for Dr.’s Bonnot, Hamilton, and Domingo. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kiefer in 2006; brother, Atlee Besancon; sister, Vera Sprinkle; and granddaughter, Laura Stillion. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Chuck) Russell and Marcy Kiefer; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; sister, Martha Sibila; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Laurels of Massillon and Crossroads Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
