Theodore "Ted" Stuhldreher, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with family by his side. He was born on February 4, 1940, in Canton, Ohio to the late Henry and Alma (Daniels) Stuhldreher. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his son, Theodore H. Stuhldreher II, and siblings Alvin Sims, Carl Stuhldreher, Caroline Bryan, and infant brother, Billy Stuhldreher. Ted was a proud 1958 graduate of Jackson High School where he excelled at football, earning All-County Honors and was also one of the first players inducted into the Jackson High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He loved his Polar Bears and lived by the motto, “Once a bear, always a bear”. Ted and Karen loved playing golf together and were avid fans of the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes where they supported and cruised on the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer for its first 10 years. Ted was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, the Jackson Township Lion’s Club and member of the Massillon Eagles Aerie #190. He was also a loyal customer to his favorite restaurant, Meldrum's. In addition, he proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Ted retired from UPS after 30 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, Ted and his wife Karen spent many years at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida as snowbirds, where he enjoyed his “Friendly” club activities. One of his greatest passions was gardening. If you knew Ted, you knew how much he loved his “Incredible Corn” and his famous salsa, or more commonly referred to as ‘Ted’s Special Salsa’. Above all, Ted was a beloved husband, a supportive and loving dad, grandpa and papa. He was a true family man and loved every minute he spent with his family. Ted will be deeply missed by wife of 57 years, Karen (Steiner) Stuhldreher; son, Dennis Stuhldreher ,daughter, Dana (Mike) Pauline and daughter-in-law Robbin Stuhldreher; Grandchildren, Kristin (Louis) Lalama, Ashtin (Jordan) Howell, Theodore “Teddy” H. Stuhldreher, III, Joey (Jamie Cole) Stuhldreher, Tommy Stuhldreher, Megan Stuhldreher, Johnny Stuhldreher, Julia (Chris Watson) Pauline, Bonnie (Ernest Lopez) Pauline and Chip Pauline; Great-Grandchildren, Willow and Lawrence James “LJ” Lalama, Cole Howell, and Sadie Decker; as well as siblings, Benny (Diane) Stuhldreher, Kathy Stafford, Norma (Bob) Hill, sister-in-law, Wanda Sims; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and extended family. Most importantly, Ted leaves behind his trusty, guard dog, Peanut, who never left his side. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 10th from 2-5 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with a service by Jackson Township Lion's Club beginning at 2pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted’s honor to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary’s, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646 or to the Jackson Township Lion’s Club.
