Theodore R. “Ted “ Keller, age 91 son of the late Theodore J. and Harriet (Harris) Keller of Beech Grove went to live with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2008. He was a member of Sixteen St. John’s Church in Massillon where he served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the consistory and was a Scout Master for Troup 38. He attended Washington High School. In his younger days, he was the standout pitcher for the west Lebanon Merchants (Semi-pro) baseball team. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Pvt. First Class in the Anti-Aircraft Division stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas. He served during World War II. His previous places of employment were, Brown Lumber in Massillon, Eaton Mfg. in Massillon, where he met the love of his life, his wife Dorothy. He farmed in Dalton, worked at Quality Casting in Orrville and retired from Tyson Roller Bearing in Massillon where he worked for 19 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 221 and the National Rifle Association. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, gardening, and sitting in his gazebo watching cars and motorcycles drive by on Rt. 93. He was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians and got a laugh out of his birthday and anniversary announced by the commentators. He was married to his lovely wife, Dorothy Caroline Neiss on September 21, 1940. He and Dorothy would have been married 68 years in September. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Diana Marie and his sister Lilah Dempsey of Toledo, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Donna Mae; sons Robert L. (Elaine) and Ronald D. (Sandra) both of Massillon; grandchildren, Heather (Brent) Jones, Shannon Keller, Joshua (Laura) Keller, Tiffany (Andy) Cocklin, Tana Keller and Zebulon Keller and great grandchildren, Hannah and Robert Jones and Lincoln Cocklin. Also surviving is one brother, Clifford Keller and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road N.E., Massillon, Ohio with Dr. Herbert Dymale officiating. Burial will follow in Sixteen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour before the service.
