Thelma A. Cowan

Thelma A. Cowan, 94 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday. May 19. 2016. She was born in Parkersburg, WV on June 28, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Phillips) Whitlatch. Thelma was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple, the Order of the Eastern Star in Williamstown, WV and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. auxillary. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Cowan, her daughter, Myrna Maybury, her sons, Clifford Cowan, Michael Cowan and George Cowan and her sisters Phyllis Schoolcraft and Hilma McCale. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra K. (John) Gordon and Dottie (Fred) Hazel, her son Raymond Cowan and 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 2:00 pm at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
