Thadd F. Evans

March 8, 1966 — December 11, 2021

Thadd F. Evans, 55, of Massillon, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on December 11, 2021. He was born on March 8, 1966 in Canton to Henry and Joyce (Kopf) Evans. Living his life for Jesus and his family were two things Thadd did passionately. Cross-Pointe Church, the former Bethel Temple Assemblies of God, has played a pivotal role to Thadd. His life and involvement centered on the church and included many important life events. This is where he met and married the love of his life, Lisa Powis, and also where they dedicated their two children. In addition to being a church member, Thadd was also a part of their worship team where he used his musical gifts and talents, by playing the guitar and singing, to honor his Lord. His love for playing the guitar was something he wished he could have replaced as his daytime job. His wife and children will always remember his non-stop playing of the guitar, with the volume cranked to 11. Thadd was a prime example of a Christian man, but he was also the patriarch of his family. This included being a committed and loving husband to Lisa, a supportive and caring dad to his children, and a blessed and proud papa to his grandchildren who he absolutely adored. And we can’t forget about his loyal, furry, companion Murphie who could always be found by Thadd’s side. In addition to his family, Thadd had an extensive group of friends who he cared for deeply. That was one of the qualities he possessed, being a friend to everyone and never knowing a stranger. Thadd leaves behind his wife Lisa, of 34+ years, his daughter Chelsea (Noah) Sanor and grandchildren Penny and Liam, son Noah Evans; his parents Henry and Joyce Evans; sisters Mindi (Les)Mitson and Cindy Lindeman; brother Hank (Denise) Evans; father and mother in-law Richard and Mary Jo Powis; brother-in-law Rick (Sue) Powis; as well as nieces, nephews and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his niece Emily Mitson-Lavy and his maternal grandmother Eva Kopf. Due to the current Covid-19 surge, the family will hold a private service only. The service will be livestreamed at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17th by going to calvarylife.church/live or facebook.com/crosspointecanton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thadd’s honor, to Cross-Pointe Church, to be used for the worship ministry, 711 25th St NW, Canton, OH 44709.
