Terry Lee Brown, 68, of Canton, fought a two year, courageous battle with lung cancer, but succumbed to Goodpasture’s Syndrome on March 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 12, 1949 in Canton to the late Henry J. and Norma (Yarger) Brown. Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Jessie Thomas on June 14, 1969 and they shared 48 loving years together. Terry worked as a foreman for the City of Canton Water Department and retired from there with over 30 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed NASCAR, drag-racing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, especially with the Adventure Harley Club. Terry was known for always playing jokes on others. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jessie; his daughter Kim (Matt) Rogers; sister Jean Medley and brother Jim (Joann) Brown; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Terry was preceded in death by his daughter Traci Lynn Brown and grandson Drake Rogers. A celebration of Terry’s life will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family will receive friends starting at 5 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s name to the National Kidney Foundation for Goodpasture’s Syndrome, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 44641. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Schmotzer, the Morning Star Cancer Center and the MICU at Aultman Hospital for their care and compassion for Terry.
