Terry was born in Massillon, Ohio, graduated from St. Mary’s School, Central Catholic High School, and Walsh University. Terry enjoyed a career in sales where he applied his technical skills with the love of interacting with people. At the end of his career, he left not only customers but friends in many places around the state of Ohio.
While at Walsh University, Terry met Joan at their favorite local dance spot. Since then, they danced together through life’s highs and lows, always committed to each other in the deepest love. Terry’s love for Joan was most evident in their later years as a dedicated caregiver to Joan. Nobody was as good of a caregiver than Terry to Joan. Terry showed the same dedication and love to his children Julie and Brian and their families. Terry was always generous with his time, energy, love, and resources for his family. Terry, with passion, rarely missed significant family sporting events, concerts, and public ceremonies of his family. Terry extended that same dedication and love to his friends and his “chosen family” enjoying golf, cultural events, and travel with “crime-fighting” shenanigans and humor. Anyone that Terry interacted with felt seen, heard, and valued especially when he gave his signature hugs. Terry embodied unconditional love and acceptance, an outflow of the God he loved and followed deeply in whose presence he is now embraced.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fore Hope (https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/fore-hope).
