Terry F. Lind, 77, of Massillon, Ohio passed into the arms of Jesus in glory on September 1, 2023 after a 10 month battle with cancer. Terry was born to Karl and Iva Lind on April 12, 1946. He graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio in 1964, and from Walsh University with an Associate Business Management degree in 1974.
He was proud to serve his country in the US Marine Corp from 1966- 1971, serving in Khe Sanh, Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart in 1967 and was stationed in Camp LeJeune until 1971.
Terry's work career began with Harrison Paint, from 1964-1982. He then worked as an investment broker for The Ohio Company (1982-1984), Advest (1984-2004), and AG Edwards (2004-2008) before retiring in 2008. In retirement, he drove a school bus for Canton City until this year.
Since committing his life to Jesus on April 12, 1997, Terry served in ministries at his childhood church, First Church of the Resurrection, in a variety of ways: deacon, elder, finance committee, church choir, and helped build houses for the church's partnership with Habitat for Humanity As a part of the East Ohio Emmanuel Emmaus church renewal ministry, Terry served as team member, lay leader, and served on Kairos prison ministry teams. He also recently served as a van transporter for Camp Carl, a Ravenna-based children's camp ministry.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Karl F. and Iva E. (Hopkins) Lind. He Is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Josephine (Ramos) Lind, their children, Brian (Paula) Lind, Jason (Dove) Hout, grandchildren, Madison Lind, Logan Lind, and Katie Hout. Also, siblings, Lee (Angie) Hill, Karl (Judy) Lind, and Lois (Phil) Vitale and cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends in Christ.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Orrville Mennonite Church, 1305 West Market St., Orrville, Ohio with Pastor Bill Seymour officiating. There will be a calling hour at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chapel in Green, Camp Carl, and Orrville Mennonite Church.
