Sylvia Jean Boniphant

Sylvia Jean Boniphant, 82 of Massillon, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She was born on September 11, 1935 in Barnesville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Howard and Rosalie (King) Gibson. She was a member of McDonaldsville United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Boniphant whom she married on June 13, 1954. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Kenny) Briggs, Paula (Jon Moreland) Boniphant and Diane (Eric) Cross, her grandchildren, Erica Cross, Cory (Megan) Briggs, Josh (Amanda Smith) Cross and Jordan Briggs and her great granddaughter Sylvia Briggs. Also surviving are her brother Richard D. (Julie) Gibson, her former sister-in-law Sandy Gibson and two nieces and one nephew. A service to celebrate her life will take place at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday, July 16th at 11:00 am with Rev. Kenneth Ogg officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9-11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
