Susan M. Wachunas

Susan M. Wachunas, 63, of North Canton, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015. Susan was born on June 6, 1951 in Massillon, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Eleanor (Hayes) Snyder. She attended Washington H.S. and completed her undergrad at Bowling Green State University and then received her Master's Degree at Kent State in Library Science. She taught and served as a librarian for many years at Northwest Local Schools. Susan was a member of First Assembly of God. A compassionate and giving spirit, she devoted much of her time as a volunteer and caregiver to family members. The greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Keith and Cora who survived her. She is also survived by her daughter, Nichole (Christopher) Hare; her brother Jeff (Michelle) Snyder; her step children, Elizabeth (Steven) Jarvis, Gregory (Kelly) Wachunas, and Sarah (Charles) Bigelow; her son Charles Wachunas; and numerous others who were important to her. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband, William Wachunas. A Celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at First Assembly of God – Massillon at 1 p.m. Pastor Jeremy McGraw will be Officiating. Interment will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday from 5- 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 12- 1 p.m. before the service.
