Sue A. Rodgers

Sue Rodgers, 78, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away December 13, 2024. She was born on March 30, 1946 to the late Lester and Thelma (Frantz) Berkshire. 

Sue was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio where she spent most of her childhood years. She graduated from Newcomerstown High School and after she married, relocated to Massillon, Ohio in 1970. Sue worked at Briner's Drugs, and later moved to Wooster where she worked until her retirement at Western Reserve Insurance as a Business Analyst. In 1993, she returned to Massillon where she met the love of her life Jim Kemp. 

Some of Sue's favorite memories were spending time with her high school girlfriends, enjoying any beach or shore anywhere, summer times at the Cape, Amelia Island, Lakeside and Marblehead with her friends. She also enjoyed going boating with her neighbors and her puppy Rico at Atwood, vacationing with her late cousin and "partner in crime" George and his family, and her trip to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. 

In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her partner, Jim Kemp; and her brother, Ron Berkshire.

She is survived by her son, Michael Rothacher; her stepchildren, David and Jocelyn Rodgers; brothers, Gary and Dan Berkshire; father of her son, Gary Rothacher; and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends wish to thank Sue's very special friend and caregiver Kathy Watts.

The family will celebrate Sue's life with family and friends this spring when the sun is shining and the beach is calling. 

Things to do in her memory: spoil a puppy, listen to your old CD's and sing along, watch a good whodunit, rearrange your furniture, hang out on a porch, wave to all your neighbors, be good to your friends, call your kids, and tell as many people you love them as often as you can.
