Steven R. Miller

October 13, 1973 — June 9, 2022

Steven Ronald Miller, age 48, entered the Kingdom of Glory after 450 days of kicking cancer's butt. He was preceded in death by his mom, Barbara L. Miller (Crabb), his maternal grandmother and Pop, Artina and Arlan Smith, maternal aunt Lorna Crabb, paternal Grandfather and Grandmother, Kenneth and Marian Miller, paternal aunt Becky Swartz, and two sweet babies that passed before he was able to meet them. Steve is survived by his soul mate, Alexas, three children, Eve and Josh Gaynor, Race, and Quinn; dogs Ruby and Raven; and his three cats that he secretly really loved, Clause, Garfield, and Joy; his father, Ted Miller, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Laura Miller; nephews Peyton and Matthew Miller; Uncle Kevin Swartz, and a host of wonderful cousins; In laws Angela and Warren Smith; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alan and Loreen Smith, nephews Zachary, Isaac, and Elijah. Steve graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1992. He was a true Tiger until the end. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1997 with a degree in illustration and worked as a web designer for the past 24 years. Steve was the most amazing, caring, and kind person. He loved his family more than life itself. He was a faithful, compassionate husband that put up with his wife's crazy personality and enjoyed letting her act as goofy as she wanted. He loved camping with his family, and gained new friendships at his campground that have turned into an extended family. He loved fishing with his boys, and hunting with his father-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle Pete. He has taught his kids so much and they are ready to enter this chapter reflecting and living by all they learned from him. The family would like to thank all the staff at University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, especially Maria Tomaro CNP, and Dr. Selfridge for their knowledge, compassion, and empathy. Without them, we would not have had 450 days with our warrior. A special thank you to Absolute Hospice for providing support to us as a family and for making sure Steve was as comfortable as possible so he could transition into Glory peacefully. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones and at the end he reached his hand up and took his first breath with his Savior. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 2 at Massillon Washington High School Auditorium. Calling hours 12-4p. Services will start at 4pm. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
