Stephen "Snuffy" Thomas Smith

Stephen "Snuffy" T. Smith, age 60, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013. He was born to the late Thomas and Eileen Smith in Massillon on December 10, 1952. Stephen was a 1971 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where he met his future wife Annette and they were married on August 4, 1979. Steve owned and operated Steve's Mowing for many years. He loved the outdoors spending his time hunting, fishing, boating and archery. Steve loved animals and had many pets over the years. He was also an avid bowler participating in different leagues. Steve was a lifelong member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Steve will be remembered as a loving, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Annette; his daughter Christina (Jeremy) Singer; his sister Monica (Mark) Coventry; his brother-in-law Thomas (Jane) Schwertner; his niece Stephanie Schwertner; his nephews Brian and Derek Coventry, and Greg (Julie) Schwertner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Barbara's Catholic Church at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Father Brian Cline officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Steve's memory to St. Jude, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
