Stephen M. Combs

Stephen M. Combs, 70, of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2022. He was born on October 15, 1951 in Massillon to the late Omer and Betty (Hayes) Combs. Stephen was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School and a former member of Massillon Baptist Temple. He worked as a crane man/furnace operator for Republic Steel where he retired after 33+ years of service. Stephen was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying squirrel hunting, gardening and fishing. Anywhere there was water, you could find Stephen there with his fishing pole. He was also a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Indians. Stephen will be deeply missed by his brothers Danny (Mary) Combs and Jim Combs; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Kathleen Combs. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 25th from 10am to 11am at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will follow at 11am with Pastor Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park where he will be laid to rest by his parents.
