Stephen M. Berner

Stephen M. Berner, 67, of Massillon, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. Steve was born on November 4, 1953, in Millersburg, Ohio, the son of William Berner and Betty (Fortune) Clawson. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1972 graduate of Tuslaw High School. He was a master electrician and a member of IBEW #540. Steve retired from LTV Steel and Hilscher-Clarke Electric. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and an avid bird watcher. He was preceded in death by his father, William Berner; son, Benjamin Berner; and stepfather, Kenneth Clawson. He is survived by his daughter, Hallie Jo; mother, Betty Clawson; granddaughter, Madison Berner; siblings, Vickie (Robert) Sampsel, Libbie (Keith) Snyder, Julie (Bruce) Horvath, Jeff (Stevie) Berner, and David (Liz) Clawson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Danbury Senior Living and Elara Caring Hospice for their compassionate care. Cremation will take place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
