Stephen Charles Soni died Thursday evening, November 15, 2018, in Austin, Texas, aged 31 years old. He graduated North Canton High School in 2006 and the New York University with a double major in Economics and Applied Mathematics in 2011. He was a principal in the company CrowdStrike, a leading internet security firm. Stephen found peace in his many athletic accomplishments, including the Aspen “Power of Four” endurance ski race and the Leadville 100 mile mountain bike “Race Across the Sky”. Stephen is survived by his mother Sandra Soni (Dr. Michael Van Ness) of North Canton and his sister Dr. Sara Soni (Dr. Jeremy Kalma) of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Prasanna Soni. Stephen will be remembered for his intelligence, warm, smile, and many achievements. He experienced many moments of joy and too many times of sorrow and despair. He struggled honestly and faithfully to find meaning amidst the deep mysteries of life. Stephen is wrapped in the arms of God, at peace in His love. “…at the setting of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember him…” Stephen was a proud graduate of Jaywalker Lodge. Donations in the name of Stephen C. Soni to the Jaywalker Alumni Fund, 811 Main Court, Carbondale, Colorado, 81623 will aid the family’s fight against the stigma and scourge of addition and mental illness. A Service for the family was held in Massillon.
