Stephen Bortel

Stephen Bortel age 90 of Canton passed away July 17, 2012 at the home of his granddaughter in Mineral City. Stephen was born December 16, 1921 in Budapest, Hungary to late Istav Bortel & Anna (Horvat) Bortel and came to the United States in 1956 to Canton. As a young man in Hungary he worked for the rail road and served in the Hungarian Military during WW II. Upon coming to Ohio he worked for the Paint & Post Department of the City of Canton. He was a member of FOE #190, VFW #3747 and Moose Lodge #481. The family would like Stephen to be remembered, dancing and mixing with people and his love of music. He is survived one daughter, Edie Manos of Massillon and two granddaughters; Dawn (Ben) McNutt of Mineral City and Kristina Manos of Canton.
