Stanley "Jim" Provost

Stanley “Jim” Provost III, 87, of Navarre, passed away December 4, 2024. 

Jim was born May 23, 1937, in Navarre, OH to the late Stanley and Florence Provost. He was a 1956 graduate of Navarre High School. Jim served in the United States Army Reserves. In 1965, Jim married the love of his life, Karen Provost (Glass). In January of 2025, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. Jim worked for Huth Ready Mix for 30 years. From a very young age, Jim farmed with his dad. In later years, he shared his love for farming with his children and grandchildren. Jim was a kind, hard working man who would do anything for those he cared about. He was considered a father and grandfather to many. 

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Karen Provost; children Lori (David) Soehnlen and Kari (Donald) Wells; grandchildren Stanley, Mark, Isabel, Annie, Xavier, Clare, Matthias, Danny, Simon, Christopher and Samantha; six great grandchildren, and brother, Mark (Mary) Provost. Jim will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and his furry companions, his cat, Babe and loving dog, Cody. 

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Provost and his brother, Carl Provost. 

Visitation will be held at Richville United Church of Christ, 6125 Richville Dr., Navarre, OH 44662, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM, where funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM in East Union Lawn Cemetery of Navarre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church at www.richvilleucc.com.
