Stacie Rae’ Cross age 26 of Massillon went home to be in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2006. Her parents, sister and friends surrounded Stacie as she made the journey. Stacie fought a courageous battle for over a year against ovarian cancer. Stacie graduated in 1998 from Fairless High School. She graduated from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at Stark State College in 1999 and attended Kent/Stark Branch to further her career studying Forensic Science. Stacie also loved Disney World, and through the college program at Stark State College, she went to Disney in 2000 to work there for a 4 month program. Stacie was an employee of American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance in the Akron/Canton Area. Stacie is survived by her parents, Stephen and Jean (Jennings) Cross, her sister, Stephanie Cross, her grandparents, Richard M. Jennings, Orland (Jack) and Pearl Cross, a cousin, Kathy Jennings and her sons, Chance and Damen (who loved their “Aunt Stacie” very much; uncles and aunts, Floyd and Carol Cross, Mike and Lorna Cross, Eric and Diane Cross, Dave and Tracie Cross, Paul Jennings, a multitude of cousins and friends, especially her best friends, Felecia Hodge, Johnnie A. Maier III, Lynne Hamilton, Heather Mitchell, Jason Mauer, Deanne Williams, Steve Pyatt and Melanie Kangus. Stacie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gertrude (Riordan) Jennings in 1994 and an uncle Glenn Cross in 1977. Stacie enjoyed life, Disney, her job, having fun with her family and friends. Stacie loved her cat, Sam and her dog Sebastian. The family of Stacie Cross would like to take this time to thank everyone for their support and prayers. A special thanks goes out to all Stacie’s co-workers and friends at AMR, Akron City Summa ER and St. Thomas Hospital ER. We have found that Stacie has a multitude of friends and is loved by all, so many people that it is impossible to thank everyone individually. A special thank you goes to Dr. James Fanning and his staff for always being there and supporting her. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Akron City Summa Hospital on the 7th Floor East Oncology Division for the love, compassion, caring and giving all that they could to help support Stacie. He parents and sister would also like to take this opportunity to say to their employers and co-workers thank you for all your support and prayers. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home (1100 Wales Rd. N. E., Massillon) and from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM Thursday at the Canton Baptist Temple with the Rev. David Harmon officiating. Interment will be in St. Clements Cemetery in Navarre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stacie R. Cross Benevolent Fund at the First Merit Bank in Massillon to help with medical and other expenses.
