Shirley S. Doyle

Shirley S. Doyle, 91 passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Chapel Hill Community, following an extended illness. She was born in Elmira, New York on April 6, 1922 to the late Clarence and Evelyna (Houghton) Brown. Shirley graduated high school and then studied piano at Julliard's in New York. She married Donald Doyle on November 1, 1947 in New York and then later moved to Ohio. She volunteered at the Doctors Hospital for over 30 years, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 221, Massillon and a very active member of First Christian Church, Massillon. Shirley was a dignified lady. Always impeccably dressed and prepared for any occasion, because life is an event no matter how small the occasion. She is survived by her children Diane (Tom) McCourt of Canal Fulton and David (Karen) Doyle of Salt Lake, UT; four grandchildren Angela (McCourt) Nelson, Samantha (McCourt) Roberts, Matthew Doyle and Cassandra Doyle; four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Doyle, two sisters and five brothers. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 2:00PM-4:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman, Rev. Steven Gower, officiating.
