Shirley Marie (Kerhin) Tasseff went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John Tasseff, her three sons, Todd (Patsy) Tasseff, Lee (Margie) Tasseff, and Craig (Carol) Tasseff, her sister Joyce (Jack) Serra, brother John Kerhin, and grandchildren, Kate, Samantha, Audrey, Aaron, Natalie, Grant, Lydia, John, and Tim Tasseff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna (Benkovich) Kerhin. Born in Brewster, OH, and a longtime resident of Navarre, OH, Shirley was at the heart of many local communities, including her church, St. Paul’s Lutheran in Massillon, organizations such as Make-a-Way and Red Cross, and her Class of ‘55 reunion committee for Brewster High School. She worked as the assistant treasurer for Fairless Local Schools for many years, and made wonderful memories as a member of Stark County Office Personnel in Education (SCOPE) and Stark County Coaches Wives Association. She was a devoted, outgoing, brilliant, thoughtful, and generous person, who never forgot to send a card or make a phone call to those who needed it. She will be remembered for her friendliness, her beautiful style, her love of dancing and musicals, her delicious baking, and her faithful presence in all of the games, activities, and milestones in the lives of her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 10th from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Massillon with calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Way, PO Box 904, Massillon, Ohio 44648-0904.
