Shirley Jean Pildner, age 76 of North Canton, passed away on January 31st, 2021. Shirley was born on April 10, 1944 in Massillon, Ohio to Eugene and Della (Miller) Colucy. Just like the lyrics in her favorite song, Shirley strived to live her life as a “Humble and Kind” person. Her gentle and loving spirit always ensured that the care of her family and friends was put before her own needs. This extended to animals as well; in particular, she adored cats. Shirley was an excellent cook and a talented artist, with a gift for tole painting. Not only did she create beautiful works of art, she was accomplished enough to share her knowledge and passion with others and taught painting to those interested in learning. She was a member of the AEP Retirement Club. She is dearly missed by her family and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Fred, her two children, David (Jill) Pildner, and Debra (Dan) Taillard, her sister, Sherry (Greg) Sarbach, her three grandchildren, and her cat, “Chase”. Shirley’s family would like to thank the Aultman Women's Board Compassionate Care Center for their kindness and support during her final days. A private interment ceremony will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley’s name to “Save Ohio Strays” (www.saveohiostrays.org/Public/Donations).
