Shirley G. Metz

Shirley G. Metz, age 87 of Dalton, Ohio, died on Monday, May 25, 2009 at Rose Lane Health Care Center. He was born on October 13, 1921 in Arnoldsburg, WV and was the son of the late George and Effie (Parsons) Metz. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and worked at the former Republic Steel, Enduro Division. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his children, Michael (Janice) Metz, Kelly Manalakos, and Shirley Dopp, stepson, David (Carla) Lance, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and his sisters, Emma Metz, Mattie Keyes and Mona Hall. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Lawson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Massillon Cemetery.
