Shirley F. Easter

Shirley F. "Luke" Easter, aged 76 passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012. He was born on March 1, 1936 in Foster, West Virginia to the late William Easter and Lydia (Atkins) Easter. Luke had been a Massillon resident since 1952. He married Carol Harlacher on January 19, 1957 and they were together until her passing on December 3, 2000. Luke was employed with Superior Brand Meats, and Consolidated Freight until his retirement. Luke was a proud Teamster. He served as a President & Treasurer for Local #93. He was a volunteer for the Wilderness Center, President of the New Deal Club and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and a Deacon at the Myers United Church of Christ. Luke was known for his zest for life, love of Bluegrass music and always on the road. Luke is survived by his two children Steven (Kathleen) Easter, and Mary (Christopher) Roth, 2 grandchildren, Michael Easter, and Tiffany Roth. He is also survived by a host of family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson David Easter. A Memorial Service will be held at Myers United Church of Christ at 2709 Pigeon Run Rd. S.W, Massillon, OH 44647 on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 6 P.M., Pastor Joseph Peters, officiating.
