Shirley Edelle Houk

Shirley Edelle Houk, 86, of Uniontown, passed away on July 11, 2024 at St. Lukes Lutheran Community of Portage Lakes.

She was born on January 15, 1938 to the late Arthur and Carmen (Hartman) Houk at Akron, OH.

She was a graduate of Green High School and worked for Texaco until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed genealogy. She always kept close ties with her old high school classmates. She was dedicated to her family and friends..

Shirley is survived by her loving son, David (Ashley) Alder; grandchildren, Allison (Zack) Beech, Madelyn Alder, Amelia Alder, Evelynn Alder, Samantha Alder, and Ryan (Emily) Alder; great-grandchild, Finnley Beech; sister, Linda (Richard) Sorrell; nieces and nephews, David (Janet) Houk, Dawn (Tom Lilley) Sorrell, Kelly (Ken) Thomas, Aaron (Ruth) Sorrell; and daughter-in-law, Tracy Alder.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, David Houk Sr., JoAnne Houk, and Brian Houk; and nephew, Michael & Jacki Houk.

Private graveside service will take place in the River Styx Cemetery.
