Sgt. Daniel J. Patron

Sgt. Daniel J. Patron with the US Marine Corp died while serving his country in Sangin, Afghanistan. Dan was born April 30, 1985 in Canton to Frank & Kathy (Luke) Patron. He was a 2003 graduate of Perry High School. He joined the Marine Corp. in 2003. Dan will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and a smile that would light up a room. He and his wife, Cody, had hoped to start their family upon his return. Dan and Cody had a passion for saving animals. Dan leaves behind two rescue dogs—Hercules and Monster and their Great Dane, Beefy. Dan was fiercely loyal to all that he loved – his country, his family, his fellow Marines, his school and his community. Dan was preceded in death by grandparents: Nick & Mary Patron and Robert Luke and his Aunt Patty (Tom) Maurer. He is survived by his wife Cody (Drace) Patron; his parents Frank & Kathy Patron, a brother and sister-in-law Matt & Meagan Patron, a niece Mia Patron and his grandmother Ruth Luke. He has many aunts & uncles: Rose Gue, Jim & Mary Jean Luke, Tom & Tess Luke, Robin & Mike Hupp, Mary & Mark Philips, Jackie & Jerry Keane, Kathy & Jim O’Leslie, Nick Patron Jr., Jim & Sue Patron, Dave & Polly Patron and many many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church; Fr. Kraynak will officiate. His final resting place will be Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A scholarship has been established in honor of Sgt. Daniel J. Patron through Perry Local Schools, 4201 13th St. S.
