Sgt. Cory M. Endlich

Sgt. Cory M. Endlich age 23 died Saturday June 9, 2007 while on a scouting patrol northwest of Baghdad, Iraq. Cory was a member of Stryker Brigade on duty in Iraq. He had been station at Ft. Lewis, WA and was sent to Iraq on April 9, 2007. He was born June 2, 1984 in Canton to Randy & Cathi (Kautz) Endlich and had been a Massillon resident most of his life. Cory, a 2003 graduate of Washington High School, participated in cross-country and played the tuba in the Tiger Swing Band. While a student he delivered the Independent, worked at the Westside Dairy Queen and the Athens Restaurant in Canton. Cory joined the Army in 2003 and served his basic training at Ft. Benning, GA. He was trained as an infantryman and paratrooper proudly earning his jump wings. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William & Nancy (Knoff) Kautz; paternal grandparents, Kenneth & Ruth (Ault) Endlich; step-grandmother, Verna Kautz; uncles and aunts, John and Julie (Kautz) Musisca, Timothy and Becky (Haver) Endlich. Cory is survived by his parents Randy & Cathi Endlich, two brothers and sister in law, Kenny & Stephanie Endlich and CPL Kevin Endlich all of Massillon; aunts & uncles, Edi & Rob Alessandrini, Bill & Florence Kautz, Curly & Marie Endlich, Sue & Jim Karl, Randy & Alida Casto & Jane Bruder; several great aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Washington High School. His former pastor Rev. Paul Myers will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday June 18, 2007 from 11 AM until 8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and on Tuesday at the school from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
