Scott L. Kerns

Scott L. Kerns, 59, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2022. He was born on September 1, 1962 to the late Lawrence Kerns and Jacqueline Proffitt, who survives. Scott worked as a Work Shop Specialist for Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He attended Jackson Friends Church, where he assisted with the youth football, soccer and basketball programs. He also played drums for the worship team. Scott lived his life to the fullest. He loved people and went out of his way to help others. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Gina (Frank) Kerns, daughter, Allison N. Kerns, sister, Stacey Beck, and step-mother, Christine Kerns. In addittion to his father, Scott was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Proffitt. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, 6:00 pm -8:00pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 11:00 am at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon, with Pastor David Tebbs, officiating. Burial will be in Newman Creek Cemetery.
