Scott E Smith

Scott E. Smith, 63, of Massillon, passed away on June 22, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 1, 1957 to the late Edwin and Ramona (Crosland) Smith. He worked as a line technician at JM Smucker where he retired from after 35 years and where he met many of his lifelong friends. Scott was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature. He enjoyed hiking, birdwatching, camping at Hocking Hills and Mohican, riding the bike trails every weekend and could even impress you with his knowledge about plants and flowers. Scott also had a passion for music and was often found with his headphones on, listening to the blues. When he wasn’t enjoying music or nature, Scott loved watching his beloved Cleveland Browns or going to NASCAR races with his wife, Sherri. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 16 years, Sherri (Hammonds) Smith; children Natalie Smith, T.J. Houk, Melissa Houk (Curtis Chaperlo), Breanna Eckstein(Travis Garrett), Alexandra (Terry) Palmer and Madison Eckstein (Jordan Clark); siblings Rick, Jeff, and Jody Smith and Barb Troyer. Scott was also blessed with two grandchildren who he cherished very much, Aria and Ezra. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother Monty Smith. At this time no services are planned.
