Sarah "Sally" Armour, passed away Monday February 3, 2014. Although she is gone, she will not be forgotten by the many lives she has touched in 88 years. She was a kind, caring woman with an infectious passion for life. Unconditional love, all will be well, keep a positive attitude, love life everyday and let those you love know it, were her mottos for living. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to Harry and Sarah (Roberts) Thompson she was one of 5 siblings. Sally graduated from Carnegie Mellon (Margaret Morrison School for Women) with a degree in Secretarial Studies. Following WWII she met her future husband at College, the late Don Armour. They were married in 1949 and in 1959 moved to Massillon where they raised their children. Sally was a Girl Scout Leader, taught Senior Steno at Washington High School in the 70's and was an active member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. She served as a Greeter, ran the T-Mart, was a member of the Pastoral Care Committee and was a board member of Episcopal Church Women. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Jack Armour, her infant granddaughter Elizabeth Studer and her son-in-law Steve Studer. She is survived by her children Rob Armour, Elizabeth "Betsy" Studer, Jane Bernas; her grandchildren Sam & Rebecca Studer, Dan & Amy Studer, Sarah Studer, Joe Studer, Jason & Janell Bernas, Zack Bernas and David Bernas; 8 great grandchildren; and her sister Nancy & Jim Warters. A Celebration of Sally's life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Rev. Hank Harris will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4-5 P.M. before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
