Sarah Marie Giltz passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord surrounded by her loving family in her sleep at her home at the age of 95. Marie was born on September 24, 1916 in Maysville, Ohio. She was raised in Massillon. Marie graduated from Washington High School in 1935. She was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Marie loved gardening, bird watching, her loving canary Lucky and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. She was a loyal member of Faith Lutheran Church for 80 years. She was a member of the Ruth Circle and the Sewing Circle at the church. Marie volunteered at Massillon Community Hospital for 33 years with 23, 000 hours of service. During her children's school years she was active in the PTA at Harvey school and past president of the PTA at Lorin Andrews School. In addition to her parents, John and Pearl Fisher and her husband Roland A. Giltz in 1979, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Summers and Grace Sprunger, her brother Harvey Fisher and her grandson Timothy R. Giltz. She is survived by her daughters June C. Crew and Sarah "Jeanne" May (Gerald "Speedy" Wiles) who were her loving caretakers, sons Clyde H. (Sue) Giltz and Kenneth R. (Cynthia S.) Giltz, nine grandchildren, Deborah J. (David) Springer of Cumming, GA, Greg P. (Terri) Haynes of Canton, Mark L. (Michelle) Crew of Canton, David B. May (Mary Beth Bailey) of Massillon with whom she had a deep and special bond, Michael C. Giltz of Charleston, WV, James K. (Carrie) May of Canton, Daniel K. (Kathryn) Giltz of Massillon, Matthew D. (Rachel) Giltz of Massillon and Rebecca J. Giltz of Massillon. There are also 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren surviving. A service to celebrate the life of Marie Giltz will take place on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Elaina Styblo officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday at the church from 10-11:00 A.M.
