Sarah Lucille Elbert, age 74 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2007. She was born on February 1, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Frances (Miller) Bonnell. She was a Massillon resident for most of her life. Lucille was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family and her Massillon Baptist Temple family. She was the head of the shut in ministry, the clothing ministry and taught Sunday School for over 30 years at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Philip G. Elbert, Sr. in 1997. She is survived by her children, Linda Jo Biehl of Cookson, OK, Deborah Gilmer of Wichita, KS, Philip G. (Linda Kay) Elbert, Jr., Randy L. Elbert and Richard B. Elbert all of Massillon and Rev. John M. (Helen) Elbert of Clarksburg, WV, 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, her brother Rodney (Pat) Bonnell of Canton, OH, her brother in law, Bill (Rayleen) Elbert of Lawton, OK and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple (1219 Overlook SW, Massillon, OH) with her son Rev. John M. Elbert and her pastor, Rev. Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Monday (TODAY) from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. and on Tuesday one hour before the service.
