Sarah Joan Moyers

Sarah Joan Moyers, age 83 of Massillon, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Rose Lane Heath Care Center. She was born on June 13, 1928 in Wellingborough, England. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Howard and Edith (Benison) Short. Sarah retired from Nickle's Bakery following 32 years of service. She was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple for about 50 years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Luck; sister, Irene Greig. She was a World War II war bride and is survived by her husband, Howard Dale Moyers of 66 years, whom she married on November 7, 1945; son, David and Judi Moyers; daughter, Pat and Ray Simonson; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother, Thomas and Pat Short, nieces and nephews in England. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple with Pastor Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. and at the church on Monday one hour before the service.
