Sarah A. Burky

Sarah A. Burky, age 87, of Tuscarawas Township, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton. Sarah was born on February 16, 1926 in Bolivar, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Furbay) Geisey. She worked at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville as a nurse's aide. Sarah was a member of First Christian Church in Massillon. She enjoyed playing bingo, crafting, traveling, movies and her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton L. Burky in 1988, her daughter, Debora Fox in 2006, her sister, Helen Gross, and brothers, Jim and William Geisey. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Emma Gamble, Richard (Linda) Burky, Diana (Tim) Schuler, David (Debbie) Burky, Dennis (Christine) Burky, and Claudia (David) Martin; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Sarah's Life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 1 P.M. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Rev. Steven Gower will be officiating. Final resting place will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
