Sandra Lee Benedum - Thompson

Sandra Lee Benedum - Thompson, 72 of Massillon, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. Sandra was born on March 2, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Washington High School. Sandra enjoyed children and her dogs. She was a breast cancer survivor. Sandra was an active member of St. George Orthodox Church where she was involved in the October Festival and worked in the Food Pantry. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Nathan Earl Benedum I and her step son, Wayne Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Louis Thompson whom she shared 21 years of marriage; her children, Elizabeth Benedum (Kevin) Gill and Nathan Earl Benedum II; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Gasser; and her sister-in-law, Berdena Duncan. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church: 364 1st Street SE, Massillon, OH 44646.
