Sandra L. Copen

Sandra L. Copen, age 70 of North Canton passed away Tuesday January 19, 2016. Sandra was born January 23, 1945 in Alliance. She was raised in Green by the late Everett & Marion (Kephart) Kinney. Sandy was a graduate of Green High School and the Akron Beauty School, working in Uniontown. As a result of her love for animals she was a volunteer at the Sanders Wildlife Center. Animal Rescue, care, rehabilitation and release was gratifying her personal love of animals. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Ervin Leonard Laird, who died while serving in Vietnam. Sandy is survived by her husband Paul E. Copen with whom she shared 49 years, 3 months and 4 days of marriage. They have two daughters and a son: Melissa Mercer Copen, Kelly A. Copen and Alex Wensel Copen. She has two grandchildren: Leonard Mercer and Jesse Mercer. Services will be 1 PM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Fr. Robert Kaylor will officiate. Her final resting place will be Mt.
