Sandra Dickson

Sandra Dickson passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024. Sandra was born April 20, 1940 in Massillon, Ohio to Florence and Cloyce Schumaker. She attended Massillon Public Schools where she graduated from Washington High School in 1958. Her next four years were spent at Baldwin Wallace University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. After graduation she spent a year teaching at Whittier Grade School where she had attended as a child. The next year she married her college sweetheart, Bill Dickson and they moved to San Diego California where he was stationed with the Navy.

Sandra and Bill moved back to Canton, Ohio area after his service obligation was over and Sandra was a teacher at Clermont School for four years. After their son was born in 1970 Sandra retired from teaching and stayed home to raise their son. During these years they lived in Athens Ohio, Lancaster Ohio, Lexington Kentucky, and the Chicago (Naperville) area before moving back to Canton Ohio to help care for Sandra's parents. During these years, Sandra worked for Talbots in both Chicago and Canton as a manager for 17 years. She loved Talbots clothes and the staff at the Canton store.

After Bill's passing in 2018, she decided to move to Middleburg Hts. Ohio to be closer to her son Andrew and her Grandchildren, Andrew Jr. and Alyssa. She enjoyed her last years spending time with her son and grandchildren. Sandra is survived by her son, Andrew Dickson of Strongsville, her grandson, Andrew Dickson Jr. and her granddaughter, Alyssa Dickson.

There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday August 13th at Paquelet funeral home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE Massillon Ohio 44646. Calling hours are on Tuesday August 13th from 10am-12pm with a service to follow at 12pm.
