Samuel J. Hoover, Sr.

Samuel J. Hoover, Sr.. 74 of Massillon, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was born on October 17, 1942 in Massillon to Chuck and Pauline (Matejko) Hoover. They preceded him in death. Following high school, Sam served his country in the U.S. Army. He went on to work at Ecko Housewares. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. (Martin) Hoover, his children, Virgil Russell, Pamela Fitch, Doyle Hoover and Samuel Hoover, Jr., 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his brothers, Dan Kirby, Marvin Kirby and James Brady and his sister Marlene Hyde. Graveside services will take place on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Brookfield Cemetery with Rev. Edd Matako officiating. There are no calling hours.
