Samuel A. Gray, Sr., 70, formerly of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1950 in Alliance to the late Samuel and Emma (Blackburn) Gray. In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his brother Gale Gray and granddaughter Courtney Copeland. Samuel was a 1969 graduate of Alliance High School and following graduation, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Some of Samuel’s favorite hobbies included traveling, fishing, and reading. He also had a love for playing the piano, riding his motorcycle and was an avid history buff. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Loraine (Stokes) Gray; his children, Saundra Copeland, Samuel (Amie) Gray, Joel (Carolyn) Gray, CJ (Laura) Gray and Christina Gray; brothers Lloyd (Carol) Gray and Roscoe (Tammy) Gray; grandchildren, Eric, Destinee, Deante, Aria, Ava, Destiny, Lexus, Ryan and Miles; great-grandchildren Kaiden, Phoenix and Miracle. A Home Going celebration will be held on March 1, 2021 at 12 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, Ohio. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The service will also be livestreamed for those that cannot attend by Clicking Here for Facebook Live Streaming Final resting place will be for the immediate family only and will take place at Dayton National Cemetery where military rites will be rendered.
