Sally Lou (Diehl) Watko, age 75, passed away on October 11, 2015. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 27, 1940 to the late Louis and K. Lucille (Brady) Diehl. Sally was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and Duffs Iron City Business Institute in Pittsburgh. She worked for the Pittsburgh Home Builders Association and upon her marriage moved to Massillon and was a Homemaker. She was very active in Girl Scouting serving as St. Mary's Neighborhood Chairman and District Chairman of Great Trail Girl Scout Council. In addition she volunteered for numerous other organizations. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed her family dinners. Sally is survived by her children; Cindy Watko, Tom (Susan) Watko, Tim Watko all of Massillon and Ted Watko of North Canton; 2 grandchildren Michael and Julie Watko; and a sister Barbara Zychowski of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Watko Jr., whom she married on September 02, 1961 and they spent 52 years together until his passing in June of 2014 and her brother Lt. Col. Thomas E. Diehl in October, 2014. Friends and family may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 6-8p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10a.m. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
